Earth Elements Beaded Necklace

The Earth Elements Beaded Necklace got its name from the varied stones and naturally occurring materials that make it up. You'll find agate, sustainably sourced mango wood, brass, clay, and mother-of-pearl beads. There are 4 sections of uncut, irregular-shaped agate stone beads in a mauve-tan color; four sections of 9 mango wood beads; four sections of 7 clay beads that are white with black marbling; one large section in the center of the necklace is alternating mother-of-pearl beads and gold brass faceted beads. THE MAKERS

TARA Projects stands for "Trade Alternative Reform Action." Working in a 125-mile radius of Delhi, TARA is a fair trade program for community development and business. The organization enables hundreds of artisans who create some of the major handicraft lines of North India to sell their products internationally. TARA is one of the pioneering Indian organizations in the field of fair wages, non formal education programs for children and women, health and environmental awareness and further development for its member artisans. Artisan benefits from TARA include medical insurance, interest-free loans and advances, a savings program and skills training. Ten Thousand Villages has purchased products from TARA since 1986.
