To create this fountain, artisans pour thin, light clay into and out of plaster molds, a process that creates the hollow ceramic pieces that are joined together for the final form. The piece is then dried in the sun, after which artisans hand-paint the glazed patterns. After glazing, the planter is fired in a gas kiln.
