Welcome to our global maker-to-market movement where, together with 20,000 artisans, we ignite social change. We create opportunities for individuals, families, and communities in developing countries to thrive through strong relationships, fair wages, safe working conditions, and sustainable practices.
One piece, five ways. Transformation Jewelry has you covered, Monday through Friday. Wear the long strand looped once or twice around your neck, or several times around your wrist. Wear the extender alone as a bracelet, or combine them to create a necklace of different length. Recycled saris are used to cover the beads and make the cotton extender, reducing waste and adding a unique and colorful flair. This bracelet was created by makers working with Tara Projects, who are using opportunities to earn sustainable income and employment to transform their lives and their communities.

THE MAKERS
TARA Projects stands for "Trade Alternative Reform Action." Working in a 125-mile radius of Delhi, TARA is a fair trade program for community development and business. The organization enables hundreds of artisans who create some of the major handicraft lines of North India to sell their products internationally. TARA is one of the pioneering Indian organizations in the field of fair wages, non formal education programs for children and women, health and environmental awareness and further development for its member artisans. Artisan benefits from TARA include medical insurance, interest-free loans and advances, a savings program and skills training. Ten Thousand Villages has purchased products from TARA since 1986.
