THE MAKERS
A basket weaver who learned the skill from her mother, Zellipah Githui founded Gitzell FairTrade to make weaving an economically sustainable livelihood for women in Africa. Working with generational weavers in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana, they use local environmentally friendly grasses and materials to practice their traditional heritage craft. The income earned has a positive impact on the lives of the weavers and their communities.
