Welcome to our global maker-to-market movement where, together with 20,000 artisans, we ignite social change. We create opportunities for individuals, families, and communities in developing countries to thrive through strong relationships, fair wages, safe working conditions, and sustainable practices.
For the mindful, the intentional and the embodied. The Golden Hamsa Hand Necklace boasts a hamsa charm: a symbol of the chakras, or the five senses, and their associated mudras (hand gestures) that re-direct energy flow throughout the body. The hamsa hand charm, made of gold colored brass, features a small heart in the center and hangs on a thin gold colored, adjustable chain with lobster claw clasp.

THE MAKERS
TARA Projects stands for "Trade Alternative Reform Action." Working in a 125-mile radius of Delhi, TARA is a fair trade program for community development and business. The organization enables hundreds of artisans who create some of the major handicraft lines of North India to sell their products internationally. TARA is one of the pioneering Indian organizations in the field of fair wages, non formal education programs for children and women, health and environmental awareness and further development for its member artisans. Artisan benefits from TARA include medical insurance, interest-free loans and advances, a savings program and skills training. Ten Thousand Villages has purchased products from TARA since 1986.
