Welcome to our global maker-to-market movement where, together with 20,000 artisans, we ignite social change. We create opportunities for individuals, families, and communities in developing countries to thrive through strong relationships, fair wages, safe working conditions, and sustainable practices.
This reverse painted glass box is decorative enough to contain even the most precious of heirlooms. In reverse glass painting, the design is silk screened onto the reverse side of the glass. The painting is done "back to front": details painted first, then larger color areas, and finally a background color. This technique requires great care and skill, as the visual "surface" is painted first then layered over, so errors cannot be corrected. Inspired by a Mandala design.

THE MAKERS
Deep and lasting relationships are essential to this family-run business, whose name means "hands joined in friendship." They bring the wares of 60 workshops across Peru - gourd carvers, ceramicists, jewelry makers and reverse-painted glass artisans - to market. They create a variety of exquisite handicrafts that tell stories of tradition and resilience. "I want to keep going, keep working to get ahead. My work is a happiness." - Eulogio Medina
