Blue Snowflake Ornament from our artisan partner SAFFY, Inc. features capiz shell. Artisans wash and soak the thin shells before cutting them into shape and edging them with wire in a labor-intensive process. Before glass windows became available in the Philippines, capiz was used for windows in houses!
